

The Park
Ranthambhore National Park is a Tiger reserve situated in the district of Sawai Madhopur in the south-east regions of Rajasthan and is approximately 130 km away from Jaipur and 365 Kms from New Delhi. Located at the junction of Aravalli and Vindhya hill range and predominantly famous for its stunning tigers, this National park is a home for a huge variety of other species of animals.
Its proximity to the National Capital is a huge factor for it being one of the most exciting tourist destinations in India and has always been considered as a treat for natural wildlife lovers across the globe.

History
Ranthambhore was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 and was declared as one of the Project Tiger Reserves in 1973.
The park gained its status of a national park in 1980 and eventually in 1991 was enlarged to include the Sawai Man Singh and Keladevi sanctuaries.
Ranthambhore is also considered as one of the famous world heritage sites because of the photographic ruins and the Historical fort that compliments the natural wildlife park.

Wildlife
Ranthambhore is one of the most eminent and largest wildlife parks in the northern India with a surface area of 392 km2, where along with Tigers, Leopards, Sambar Deers, Spotted Deers, Wild Boars, Sloth Bear, Hyena, Langurs, Chitals and many other wild animals are seen in their natural Jungle habitat.
The fauna of the park includes more than 30 mammals and over 300 bird species, whereas its flora consists of an ancient Banyan Tree, multitude of ‘Dhok’ and ‘Pipal’ Trees and Mango Trees intersected with Pine patches, ‘Dhok” being the most evident amongst all.
The National Park is naturally dry deciduous type with perishing forest environment and verdant greenery, much famous for easy sights of Royal Bengal Tigers and a gamut of chirpy birds.
Jungle Safaris
Ranthambhore National Park is divided into 6 zones where Morning and evening safaris are conducted for 3 hours each in various Canters and open Jeeps except from 01st July till 31st September due to bad jungle roads in Monsoons.
These Safaris are available in a 6 seater Gypsy SUV or on a 20 seater Canter each of them consisting a driver and a guide and run through rough pathways, wooded terrains, lakesides and patches of land covered with wild grass.
